Reservations
You can manage your reservations here. If you would like to allow students to reserve a tutoring session with you in advance, you can open reservation availability in this tab. Reservations are a great way to make the most of your time on Cambly. Many veteran tutors on Cambly have back-to-back reservations everyday!
The Reservation System
You can open up reservation availabilities for time periods you are free to take student reservations. Students can also request reservations with you and you can set how much advance notice you need for reservation requests. As you grow your base of regular students, reservations are a great way to make efficient use of your time as you will know exactly which times to log on in order to speak with your regular students. You should update your reservation time slots if there are changes. This way, students only schedule time with you when you know you will be available.
Students can reserve sessions lasting from 15 minutes to 2 hours. Once a student reserves a time with you, you’ll receive a reservation notification via email. You will be asked to confirm or cancel your reservation directly from the email. Alternatively, you can login and confirm or cancel directly from the Reservations tab. If you can no longer make your reservation time, you should cancel the reservation either in email or online so we can notify your student that you can no longer make the reservation.
During the reservation, you will be paid based on the number of minutes that you chat. That means if you continue chatting with the student after the reservation time ends, you will be paid for all the chat minutes. Alternatively, if you chat for less than the reservation time, you will be paid only for those chat minutes.
The 10-Minute Rule
If the student is late, you are only required to wait for 10 minutes after the scheduled start time. While waiting, you can answer other students' calls. We will alert the new incoming student that you may need to leave soon, so there should be no surprises. We will also alert you in the chatroom when your reserved student calls in, so that you can switch over to the reserved student with one simple click. If the student is a no-show, you will be automatically paid for your 10 minutes of wait time.
Alternatively, if you have either missed a reservation or are more than 10 minutes late, your reservation schedule may be cleared. We understand that emergency happens. However, because we also try to ensure students a good experience, we recommend you to keep no shows at minimum.
