Teaching on Cambly Kids is fun and rewarding, and it calls for a special kind of tutor: patient, energetic, and reliable. This article explains what you need to qualify and how to submit your Cambly Kids profile for review.
Requirements
To be eligible for Cambly Kids, you need to meet all of the following:
1. Tutor stats
You need to meet all three of these stats in at least 2 of your last 3 complete months. One of those months must be the most recent month:
- 98%+ positive reviews
- 98%+ attendance
- 3+ repeat learners
To check your stats: go to the History tab of your tutor account. Then, click Advanced Stats. From there, you can navigate to past months’ stats.
For example: If you met all three stats in August and October but not September, you could qualify in November. If you met them in August and September but not October, you’d need to meet them again in November first.
2. An account in Good Standing
Your Cambly account needs to be in Good Standing. The good news is that most Cambly tutors are in Good Standing! Good Standing means that you don't have serious or frequent policy violations. One-off issues (like a single late start or a single missed lesson) in general will not affect your account's Good Standing.
If you're unsure, our Tutor Support team can clarify your status before you complete your Cambly Kids profile.
3. No Child Safety & Wellbeing violations or concerns
Tutors who have received a Child Safety & Wellbeing violation or who have been contacted by our team about Child Safety concerns are not eligible for Cambly Kids.
4. A complete, professional Cambly Kids profile
Your profile must include a photo and video that are appropriate for young learners.
5. A Kids demo video
You’ll record a 3–5 minute demo lesson. We look for:
- Total Physical Response (TPR) and clear, simple language
- Energy and enthusiasm, as if a child is right in front of you
- Good lighting and a clean, distraction-free background
For tips on recording a great demo, watch our Cambly Kids onboarding video.
Why reliability matters so much on Cambly Kids
Kids can’t take on-demand lessons, so when a tutor misses a lesson, a child loses that lesson completely. That’s why our attendance requirement is high. Families count on you to be there.
