Cambly tutors are responsible for reporting their own Cambly earnings. For your convenience, we total your last year's payments on the "Account" section of your tutor dashboard. Cambly is not able to provide you tax advice. If you have any questions, we recommend you seek professional accounting advice based on the country in which you live and/or to which you report your earnings.
For U.S. Taxpayers
If you have "PayPal" selected on your tutor account page as your payment method, PayPal may issue you a Form 1099-K depending on your earnings and their policies. To learn more, visit the PayPal website. Whether you receive a Form 1099-K from PayPal or not, Cambly will not separately issue you one.
If you have "Other Payment Methods" selected as your payment method, Cambly will issue a Form 1099-K if you meet the income threshold required by the IRS. This Form 1099-K will be sent from our tax partner, Track1099, to the email address associated with your Cambly account. Our tax partner will typically issue your Form 1099-K by the end of January each calendar year.
If you elected to receive payments from Cambly using multiple payment methods, your income may have been split between Paypal and another source. Therefore, you may receive a Form 1099-K from one source and not the other, or both! As a reminder, your annual total, regardless of payout method, is reflected on the "Account" section of your tutor dashboard.
