Students will soon have the ability to invite friends to join their private lessons!
This feature is in its alpha phase, which means we will continue to make changes to the experience as we learn what works for all users–tutors and students alike! In this phase, we want to learn if something like this would be successful in bringing more students to Cambly, driving more learners to you!
We have many more features in the works, such as notifications in your calendar and building a way for you to control students’ access to inviting a friend to one of your lessons. In the meantime, here is what the alpha experience will be like, should you come across it in these early days:
How does it work? Students can invite up to two friends to join them in the lesson. When one of your reserved student’s invited friends accepts the invitation to join the reservation, you will be notified via email. You will also be reminded upon joining the lesson! |
What do I need to do in these lessons?
Nothing! Think of this as just another private lesson with your student. There is nothing special you need to do in these lessons. The invited friends just want to see what Cambly is all about! Please welcome your guests, and then go about your lesson as usual, incorporating your guests as much or as little as you’d like.
Why are we exploring this feature?
We believe that a free, friend-recommended experience is a compelling incentive to explore Cambly, contributing to the influx of new students to our platform.
We're excited to harness the effectiveness of word-of-mouth growth. We believe that experiencing Cambly for free, alongside a friend's recommendation, creates a powerful incentive to explore Cambly. This not only makes trying out Cambly more appealing to prospective students, but it also fosters a shared, safe learning experience as prospective students try something new.
Do ratings from these calls count toward my overall rating?
No. Because this experience is its alpha phase, any ratings or feedback from the students will not surface to other group students nor will it impact tutor ratings. Cambly will inform tutors if this changes.
Do Cambly Kids students have the ability to invite friends?
Cambly Kids students are not included at this time.
