This is the home of your tutor activity. You can pull up the Tutor Dashboard by clicking on "Dashboard" in the left corner of the top bar.
Navigating Your Dashboard
1. Cambly Clock & Profile: In the top, left block of your dashboard you will see your Cambly Clock, which displays your time on Cambly. Make sure this time matches the time being displayed on your computer to avoid any scheduling mishaps. You can also quickly view your profile from this block.
2. News from Cambly: Any recent launches, changes or communications in general can be found in the New from Cambly block. This ensures you stay up-to-date with what's happening on Cambly.
3. Inbox: You can conveniently preview any recent messages from students in this block. You can also access your Cambly messages by clicking on the message icon in the top, right side of the top bar.
4. Your Status + Tech Check: In this block, you can change/control your visibility status. To navigate to the tech check if you have an upcoming reservation, priority hour, or want to set yourself as visible, click on the blue "Get started" button.
5. Today's Events: Your upcoming priority hours and reservations will appear in this block, so you can preview what your schedule looks like for the day.
6. Past Lessons: The Past Lessons block gives you a peek at any recent reservations you completed, which allows you to conveniently send a quick message to your students from your dashboard.
Your status
Note: Regulars Only is not available during Priority Hour. If this option is selected during a Priority Hour, you will be visible to paid users only until the end of the Priority Hour. |
Picking Up Calls: When a student calls you, you'll hear a ring tone and also see a call box appear within the dashboard with the student's profile photo on the left, their username to the right of their profile photo, and an answer and decline button.
On Priority Hour, the answer button will typically be the only option for you, as tutors are expected to answer all incoming calls while on Priority Hour.
However, if an incoming call will extend beyond the duration of your Priority Hour, you will have the option to decline. If you are able and willing to complete the entire call length, please accept the call. If you are unable to stay for the entire call, please decline.
Please only accept the student call if you are able to commit to the entire duration of the incoming call.
There are two types of calls: incoming calls, which come from students who have specifically requested you, and unassigned calls, which come from students who have been matched to any online and visible tutors. As a rule of thumb, try to pick up calls within 30 seconds so as to avoid students waiting too long.
While on Priority Hour
If you are in a Priority Hour you will remain in the "Visible" state. The only exceptions are:
1) If you need to complete the Tutor Checklist. You will see a green banner below your visibility status asking you to complete the tutor checklist.
2) You are on your five minute Priority Hour break. You can control the start and end of your break using the play/pause button on the top right of the Priority Hour Box.
Note: Just as a reminder, Regulars Only is not available during Priority Hour. If this option is selected during a Priority Hour, you will be visible to paid users only until the end of the Priority Hour. |
Reservations
You will also stay "Visible" but you can select whether to be visible to everyone or only to your reservation student. You can expand a reservation card by clicking on it. This will cause three boxes to display within the card. Box one displays the length of the reservation. Box two is a link to the student's profile page. Box three opens up text chat with the student.
Checking Your Schedule
Towards the bottom of the Tutor Dashboard you will see a line labeled "Upcoming Events." Click on this section to expand it and get a view of all Priority Hours and Reservations scheduled for the rest of your day and for tomorrow. If you want to see your schedule beyond that you can check on the Priority Hour or Reservations pages.
