At times, Cambly prompts users to review and agree to our User Agreement, Privacy Policy, and Tutor Addendum.
When will I see this?
For the current prompt, you’ll need to agree by the end of the day Wednesday, October 21 (UTC) to continue accessing your tutor account.
Why am I being asked to agree again?
We’ve updated how we collect agreement to our terms. When the terms were updated in September, not all ‘Acceptance’ clicks were recorded correctly, so we’re asking all students and tutors to agree again on the new acceptance screen. The new screen asks you to agree to each document separately.
What changed in the documents?
While no content meaning was changed, added, or removed, we’ve clarified how we describe the companies Cambly works with. “Service Providers” are companies that help us run Cambly. “Partners and Collaborators” are companies and researchers that may use information for their own purposes. We’ve also added detail about how information may be shared if Cambly is involved in a business transaction, such as a merger or acquisition.
You can read the full documents anytime from your tutor account or here:
Can I review it later?
Yes. If you’re logging in right before a lesson, or you’re not ready to accept yet, choose “Review Later” and come back to it. This option is available until the end of day Wednesday, October 21 (UTC).
What happens if I choose Reject?
You will not be able to access your account for tutoring. During this time:
- You won’t be able to use your account, other than to agree or sign out
- Lessons already on your schedule stay there, but you’ll need to agree before you can access them
- You won’t appear in search or receive new bookings
Your account will not be deactivated. You can change your mind at any time by logging into your tutor account and clicking Agree. Your full access comes back right away, including full visibility to students.
What happens if I don’t agree by the deadline?
After the end of the day on Wednesday, October 21 (UTC), “Review Later” is no longer available. You’ll need to agree to keep using your account.
I already made privacy choices. Will those change?
No. Any privacy opt-outs you’ve already made stay in place.
I live in Korea, Turkey, or Brazil. What’s different for me?
If your country of residence on Cambly is Korea, Turkey, or Brazil, you’ll also be asked to review local documents required by your country’s laws. This may appear on a separate screen after you agree to the documents above.
Prompts regarding AI training choices are up to you. Leaving it unticked will not affect your account, your bookings, or your tutoring in any way, and you can change your choice later.
