You're in full control of your schedule on Cambly, meaning you can take time off whenever you need to. Here's how to make sure everything is set before you go.
Before You Leave
1. Close your availability: Go to your availability settings and remove any open slots during the time you'll be away.
2. Cancel existing reservations and Priority Hours: Check your upcoming schedule and cancel any reservations or Priority Hours that fall during your time off. As long as you cancel at least 12 hours before a scheduled lesson or Priority Hour, there are no penalties. For more information on cancellations, please refer to Cancellations, No-shows, and Returning Student Lessons
3. Let your regular students know: While this is not required, we do recommend giving your regular students a heads-up about any upcoming time off, so they can plan ahead. If you need to message multiple students, you can copy and paste the message to each student individually.
If You're Tutoring While Traveling
Update your timezone manually Cambly doesn't detect timezone changes automatically. If you're tutoring from a different location, please update your timezone in your account settings before your first lesson.
Check if your destination is a restricted location: Due local laws and regulations, you won't be able to access your Cambly account from California, Massachusetts, or New Jersey. If you're traveling to any of these locations, you won't be able to tutor during that time.
We recommend making alternative plans with students in advance of any short stays or visits, as you will not be able to access your Cambly account from restricted locations.
